My name is Susanna Gianfermo and together with my husband Giorgio, I am the owner and creator of Carezze d’Italia. I was born in Rome where I studied history of art. I graduated in 1985 with a thesis on Florence. Since 1986 I have been involved in cultural tourism. I have also had experience teaching “Design of cultural tourism itineraries” in highschools. For six years I taught Italian to foreigners as a volunteer at the Misercordia charity organisation of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa.
I created “Carezze d’Italia” with the intention to unite my passions and interests, and to answer our guests’ need for genuine experiences. I will take care of the cultural aspects of your visits in Tuscany in accordance with your requests. I will select passages from Italian literature that we will read and the works of art that we will discuss during our dinners. I will look after the logistics of the private concert. I will be your reference for any need or request, so do not hesitate to contact me.
I truly love making connections between the various forms through which culture is expressed. Therefore, it can occur that during our discussions I might recommend certain authors to read in order to better understand a painting, or a film to see to enter more deeply into the spirit of a historical period. I hope that you too will want to do the same. We can be in constant contact via e-mail, Whatsapp, Skype or Facebook.
I hope to remain in contact with you even after your experience with us has ended and I will always be at your disposition to recommend particular ingredients for your dishes, or to invite you to see a beautiful exhibition in your city or to remember to watch a film that we spoke about together.
