OUR PERSONAL STORY
We are Giorgio Concato and Susanna Gianfermo and we are the founders of Carezze d’Italia. We were born and raised in Rome, but twenty years ago we decided to move to the Chianti region in search of a different lifestyle for our family to that which a big city has to offer – even if that city is the most beautiful in the world. This choice revolutionized our way of living and working: here we learned to appreciate the slow rhythms of nature and to share solid and sincere human relationships.
OUR PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY
We have worked in the tourism industry for twenty years and in 2005 we decided to renovate a sixteenth century property in order to render it a cozy and homey place for hosting travellers from all over the world. In the last ten years we have had the pleasure in hosting almost ten thousand people with whom we shared many stories and interests; we established solid friendships with many of our guests that enriched our family. It was due to these meetings and the contribution of those who chose us that the “Carezze d’Italia” project was born.
THE CAREZZE D’ITALIA EXPERIENCE
The “carezza” (or caress) is a show of affection: a caring gesture that demonstrates that the person who performs it is taking care of who receives it. Carezze d’Italia is a seven-day experience in the heart of Tuscany during which we will take care of you and we will guide you in the discovery of our lands through art, cuisine, literature and music.
During the week you will discover the flavours and smells of the Italian cuisine, you will taste excellent Tuscan wines whilst listening to the words of the most famous Italian authors, you will lose yourselves in the colours and images of a land rich in art and moving landscapes and you will live a one-of-a-kind experience of a classical music concert in the hall of our antique homestead.
